Tour Apparel Artwork

By Brenton Bowen, Guugu Yimithirr People

This artwork represents the deep connection between land, sea, and sky — and the stories that live within them.

The rising sun at the top symbolises new beginnings, strength, and the continuation of culture across generations. Its bold, layered patterns reflect knowledge passed down from Elders, each line carrying stories, guidance, and wisdom that shape the future.

As the sun meets the horizon, it transitions into the ocean — a powerful source of life, movement, and identity. The flowing wave patterns represent the rhythm of community, the journeys we take, and the connection to sea country. The circles within the water symbolise people — families, communities, and gathering places — all connected through shared stories and culture.

The layers of the ocean show depth, not just of water, but of history. Beneath the surface are the unseen stories — ancestors, memories, and knowledge that continue to guide and protect us.

The contrast between the warm tones of the sun and the cool blues of the ocean highlights balance — between past and future, land and sea, knowledge and growth.

This piece is a reflection of identity, connection, and continuity — a reminder that no matter where we go, we are always connected to our country, our people, and our story.
